World Trademark Review (WTR), the only global magazine dedicated solely to international trademark law and practice, is conducting in-depth, independent research for a major, unique new publication that will list the world’s leading trademark practitioners and firms. Research will conclude in July, with the publication officially launched early in 2011.
Publication
The final publication will have an estimated minimum distribution of over 8,000 individual copies, which will include:
- All subscribers and contributors to WTR
- Those responsible for trademarks at the world’s largest brand-owning companies
- Recognized trademark experts at the world's major firms and agents
- Delegates at key IP conferences throughout 2010/2011
- 30 copies for firms that purchase biographies to distribute to clients
Copies will also be available for download from the WTR website.
Research
Research is carried out by a dedicated in-house team at WTR, headed by IP Media Group research manager Alastair Mitchell. Telephone interviews with practitioners and their clients form the foundation of our research.
Inclusion in the rankings incurs no charge and is based exclusively on the findings of our research. Those individuals and firms that are ranked will have the opportunity to purchase extended profiles in the final publication.

Recommendations for firms - interviews
Any information that you can provide during the research process is likely to improve the chances of members of your firm being included in our rankings, as it will complement our own research findings. I would be grateful if you could suggest a couple of time options on the basis of the research schedule when a
representative(s) from your firm would be available for a 30-minute phone conversation with one of our researchers. All interviews are conducted confidentially and any comments made will remain strictly non-attributable. Please see the schedule for more information on when research is being carried out.
Submissions
It is helpful if firms submit to us brief overviews of their practice, short biographies of the lawyers involved and summaries of recent work highlights, making sure to clearly mark as confidential any cases/details that are not in the public domain. For further details, please see our submission guidelines.
Client referees
In order to enhance the feedback we gather on your lawyers and attorneys, on the basis of which we draw up our ranking tables, we strongly suggest that you submit to us a small number of referees (a maximum of three per practitioner) who may be contacted to provide confidential references on their work (preferably purchasers of your firm’s services). For further details, please see our submission guidelines.
